Terms of Use

1. Agreement

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the QuickCal mobile app provided by AleksPetk. By downloading, installing, or using QuickCal, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. The service

QuickCal is an offline-first calorie tracking tool. You create My Library, optionally copy items from the built-in QuickCal Reference, log intake with Quick Log or Portion items, review history, manage local settings, and optionally use Calorie Planner for estimated calorie and macronutrient targets. Calorie and macro figures you enter or calculate in the app are for personal tracking and planning only.

3. QuickCal Reference

QuickCal Reference is a built-in offline catalog of approximately 150 curated ingredients focused on natural, minimally processed foods — primarily raw, uncooked, or dry ingredients such as meat, poultry, fish, vegetables, fruits, grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds. It is based on USDA FoodData Central reference data, ships inside the app, and is not downloaded from the internet. It is not a community database.

The Reference exists to provide nutrition information for foods that often do not have nutrition labels. Packaged foods that already display nutrition labels are intended to be entered manually into My Library.

Reference items are read-only. When you copy a reference item into My Library, the copy becomes completely independent: you may rename it, change portions, edit calories or macros, add photos, pin it, and use it in meals. Future QuickCal reference updates never overwrite user-created copies.

4. Calorie Planner and recommendations

Calorie Planner provides estimated calorie and macronutrient recommendations using established nutrition equations (including Mifflin–St Jeor resting metabolic rate) and current scientific guidance on activity and goal adjustments. Questionnaire answers stay on your device. Planner calculations happen locally and are not uploaded to QuickCal servers.

Results are estimates only. Every body is different. Metabolism, genetics, hormones, medical conditions, medications, activity, body composition, and many other factors influence real calorie needs. Any expected weight gain or loss implied by a target is only an estimate. Results are never guaranteed.

QuickCal does not provide medical advice, does not diagnose diseases, does not replace doctors or dietitians, and should not be used as the sole basis for medical decisions. Consult a qualified healthcare professional when appropriate — for example if you are under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding, have or are treating an eating disorder, have a medical condition, take medications that affect weight or metabolism, or are unsure whether a calorie target is suitable for you.

5. License

Subject to these Terms and the rules of the app store where you obtained QuickCal, AleksPetk grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use QuickCal on devices you own or control. You may not reverse engineer, redistribute, or misuse the app except as allowed by applicable law.

6. Accounts, local data, and backups

QuickCal does not require a QuickCal account. Your My Library items, logs, settings, optional library photos, and Calorie Planner data are stored on your device. The bundled QuickCal Reference remains part of the app package. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter and for backing up your device or using Export Backup if you want a copy of your local data outside the app.

Export Backup and Import Backup include local data such as My Library items you created or copied and Calorie Planner settings. The bundled QuickCal Reference catalog is not exported. Restoring a backup restores copied My Library items normally. Backups do not change Apple purchase status. Apple purchases remain managed entirely by Apple. Uninstalling QuickCal deletes local app data on that device.

7. Trial

QuickCal includes a 14-day free trial managed by the app on first successful entitlement setup. During the trial you can use write features subject to normal app behavior. After the trial expires, browsing existing data remains available; actions that write data (for example logging or editing the library) may open a paywall until you unlock the app. Expiry does not delete your existing local data.

Because trial timing is stored locally, uninstalling and reinstalling may allow a new trial to start. There is no QuickCal server that prevents reinstall-based trial resets.

8. Purchases and restore

After the trial, full write access can be unlocked with a one-time lifetime in-app purchase. There is no subscription in the current product. Purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), not by a separate QuickCal checkout. Apple purchases remain managed entirely by Apple.

Restore Purchase checks the store for a lifetime purchase associated with the store account on that platform. An Apple purchase does not automatically transfer to Android, and an Android purchase does not automatically transfer to Apple. QuickCal caches unlock status locally after a successful purchase or restore; it does not perform server-side receipt validation on a QuickCal backend.

Payment terms, refunds, and billing disputes are handled under the applicable store’s policies. Erase All Data and backup import/export preserve real store purchase entitlement; they do not transfer or alter Apple’s record of your purchase.

9. Acceptable use

Use QuickCal only for lawful personal purposes. Do not attempt to interfere with store billing, circumvent the trial or purchase gate in unauthorized ways, or use the app in any manner that harms AleksPetk or other users. Do not rely on Calorie Planner estimates as a diagnosis, treatment plan, or substitute for professional care.

10. Disclaimers

QuickCal is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. AleksPetk does not warrant that calorie totals, macros, goals, QuickCal Reference values, or Calorie Planner estimates will be accurate for your health needs, produce any particular weight change, or that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free. Reference nutrition values are based on USDA FoodData Central public data and may differ from labels, cooking methods, or specific products you buy.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AleksPetk is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of QuickCal, including reliance on Calorie Planner estimates or QuickCal Reference values. Local data loss may occur if you clear history, erase data, uninstall the app, or lose the device. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the lifetime unlock (if any) or the minimum amount required by law.

12. Privacy

How QuickCal handles information is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of your understanding of the product.

13. Changes

These Terms may be updated by publishing a revised version on this site with a new “last updated” date. Continued use of QuickCal after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, except where applicable law requires a different process.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute arising from or relating to QuickCal or these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Japan.
